Caribbean Culture Drop Open Air Festival
Caribbean Culture Drop Open Air is a free one-day festival celebrating Afro-Caribbean, roots, and native music and culture. The festival takes place at Den Røde Plads in Copenhagen and features a diverse lineup of both established artists and emerging talents from Denmark, the Caribbean, Africa, and the Arctic.
The festival aims to build cultural bridges and foster artistic collaboration through live music, workshops, and community-driven experiences. The musical program includes reggae, dancehall, afrobeats, and related genres, creating an immersive and inclusive atmosphere for all attendees.
Since its launch in 2021, the festival has become a key event for reggae and world music in Denmark, featuring performances from renowned artists such as Pharfar, Wafande, Shaka Loveless, Raske Penge, Eek A Mouse, Manu Digital, Klumben, Kaka, and Norris Man. In addition to established names, Caribbean Culture Drop Open Air also provides a platform for emerging artists and local talent.
Early in the day, the festival features a special children’s program, which has previously included performances such as Moussa Diallo Trio’s ‘Cirkeline & Coco Rejser til Afrika’.
The festival promotes diversity, community, and artistic excellence, using music and art as tools for social change and cultural exchange. Through collaborations with organizations such as Det Grønlandske Hus and local youth programs, the event encourages participation from a wide range of communities.
Returning on September 6, 2025, the festival continues its tradition of taking place on the first Saturday of September, bringing people together in a celebration of music and culture.
